Set-Up Description
For conducting the experiment, the ball (with hook) is supported by a nylon thread tied to the hook. The length of the pendulum is varied between readings. This makes it possible to study the effect of Variation of Length on Time-Period of vibration. Also, a small ball may be substituted by a larger ball, for the same length of pendulum, to illustrate the effect of the Mass of Ball on the Time-Period of vibration.
Procedure for calculating time period:
- Enter the values in Calculate Result tab.
- Press the Calculate button.
Procedure for performing Practical:
- Support the rod by means of two strings onto the main frame.
- Adjust the length of the rod, the distance between the strings, and the string length as desired.
- Allow the bar to oscillate in the plane containing the rod (horizontal plane) for a specific number of oscillations, and find the time period of vibration.
- Enter the values in Compare Results tab.
- Press Verify.
